Luminate Southampton and Thaikhun

I met up with two girls from my class for a little ‘not quite’ Christmas lunch. I ended up in the new Watermark building in Southampton. Not everything is open yet so we went for something new, Thaikhun which is an awesome  Thai street food place, with the nicest staff and the tastiest food. We went for a bucket of  Full Moon cocktail.

The inside is bright and rustic with a clear view of the kitchen, wooden floors and walls created smaller eating areas for a cozy dining experience.

My Ka Nom Jeeb Moo & Gong (prawn and pork Dumplings) add the chilli sauce that is on your table, you won’t be disappointed.

Poppy went for the Por Pia Tord pak ( veg spring rolls)

Amy had the Goong Choop Pang Tord ( Tempura prawns)

We devoured our starters wanting to share but not being able to because of the veggie. We moved onto the main course.

I had the chicken and cashew curry with jasmine rice. The right amount of spice blended with the creamy nuts and sweet veg.

I think is the chicken with pepper and garlic.

Poppy went for the red Thai curry with tofu. She did find too spicy, but they were more then happy to make her a lighter version.

We chatted and laughed before getting the bill and heading into the night.

As we walked back along the wall we were greeted with a crescendo that made us jump as high as our full stomachs would allow. The Wall in southampton was ablaze. Images danced across the stones depicting the birth and rise of Southampton.

Thank you for reading.

Thank you Poppy and Amy for being the kindest and funniest girls i know, and for accepting that I will want to take photos of the food you are about to eat. See you in 2017

Love Amelia, XO
