Monty’s Lounge | Burger

Monty’s Lounge is a quite burger spot in the heart of Bournemouth. I’ve heard about Monty’s for the better part of 2 years and finally decided to go. We arrived at golden hour and were pretty much the only customers saver one table next to us.

You can find Monty’s in a few places around Bournemouth: Pokesdown, and Bournemouth Centre.

The decor was relaxed, beachy, hipster and artsy all at the same time. A real mish-mash of styles, but it kinda worked. The hand painted Bournemouth scenes on the pages on the walls were a highlight for me.

To the burger.

We each got the cowboy, he got an extra patty and we got the same sides. The sweet potato fries with added bacon and maple syrup.

The Cowboy was a tantalising taste, it was a mix of zing and flavour. The classic crunch of crisp lettuce cut through the sauce and balanced the flavours perfectly. But it didn’t really taste like a cowboy burger. I was expecting something deep down and dirty, I got a very good burger that has a miss leading name. I loved the addition of bacon to the side, but would have liked the maple on the side to drizzle it myself. What can I say, I like to play with my food.

I enjoyed the service and the food and will be going again. I think the raging cajan is next.

What I look like waiting for a burger. Grumpy that I don’t have food and excited to eat a burger.
