Winter Skincare | Hands
Hands are so important and I think one of the most missed parts of the body when it comes to taking care of them. We are all told that it’s important to moisturise your face, so you look younger for longer. But hands are neglected and they are one of the places I think ages us the most.
As we head into winter our hands are taking the toll. Here are my favourite hand care products to keep your hands looking youthful and moisturised in Autumn and Winter. Don’t forget to wear your gloves too.
Cath Kidston – A mini trio of floral scented hand creams. Each sent transports you to a stately home somewhere. A scented hand cream instead of perfume? people complimented me on my perfume and i’ve had to tell them it’s actually my hand cream. They are perfect handbag emergency hand creams.
Geranium is my favourite scent.
I’ve the worst nails so I use Burt’s Bees cuticle cream to protect my nails as much as possible from breaking. I massage my nails with this lemon butter after using hand cream and feel very protected. I don’t feel like i’ll be getting and ripped cuticles or sore skin. Also smells amazing and comes in gift sets all the time.
Burt’s Bees almond Milk and Beeswax hand cream is a very thick and sticky cream that needs a little working into the skin, but sinks in and moisturises deeply. It’s a very traditional smell, you smell the almonds and the honey and that’s it.
Something a little fancier for your paws is the Elemis British Botanicals hand and nail butter. Just listen to the list of ingredients. Wild flax, sweet orange, lavender, oats, patchouli, rosemary, burdock, geranium, thyme, camomile. That’s not even the whole list. It’s a beautiful concoction of scents and is such a light butter that it could be used all over the body.
The heavy lifting hand cream comes from Elizabeth Arden.
This will sooth your winter skin ailments and leave you feeling like you’ve shed your skin and am fresh and clean. A thick gloopy cream from the Eight Hour collection, that you have to really work into the skin and leaves your hands sticky for ages. Which makes you stop what you are doing and really massage your skin. A little me time while taking care of your hands.
