Songs I listened to while shooting

Hayley Williams – Simmer & Cinnamon

I’ve been going through my maternal Grandma’s photos a little. She has thousands and her and my mum are sorting them into albums. The picture quality and tonality of the photos really inspired the aesthetic on this shoot. I get most of my inspiration from soft focus imagery. To create the filter and blured quality of the photos I shot with my dresser mirror. I never clean it which is digusting but makes for a textured imperfect image. I also stuck a piece of clingfilm loosely over the lens of my camera to create the blured filter and effect. The trick i found is to not pull the clingfilm tight over the lens but to make sure your light sorce can get between your lens and the film for this effect. I can’t take any inspiration for this technique because I saw Katie from Katie.one do it first.

The “vintage” theme of the shoot inspired the styling. An argyle style jumper from Pringle Scotland and H&M’s collaboration, with a pair of LK.Bennet kitten heels. I planned to wear a different outfit, but felt to costume like and wanted a level of gravity and realism in my work for this shoot.
