The Curly Haired Girl turned one of the 21st of April! Last year I wasn’t happy with the content I was creating on my old blog, I didn’t know what my next move was. How was I to move forward with my old content lurking around? I couldn’t, so I made the bold step to start again, from scratch!!
thecurlyhariedgirl.org.uk was launched and I started to think about what I wanted to share more seriously.
My plans for Year Two: Go to more blogger events and to start university in September, and get my hair sorted so that I’m happy with it.
Fortunately the 21st was also date night, so myself and the boy headed to 7Bone in Bournemouth I ordered the Shuffle to the Straight Time and he went for Prince Charles is overrated.
The money shot! ( a little on the cold side but it was packed so it’s ok) Of course I had the dirty fries, I want bottles and bottles of the stuff.
One trend that I have never really liked was the culotte. It brings me back to my childhood of wearing skorts. Basically I don’t see the point of them.
Having bigger hips then my waist makes culottes look so frumpy. It really accentuates my hips and I think I look wider then I actually am. But I would have never have known this if I hadn’t tried them out.
I now know that they are not my style and I will never wear them again like this. TBH I look like a balloon!! Thank goodness these are my grandma’s and she can for sure have them back.
This is where I shot my outfit of the day. I mean how beautiful is it.
I posted a photo of the Lush Cherry Blossom Bubble Bar on Instagram about two weeks ago and have finally gotten round to using it.
I was very kindly given it for my birthday along with a chocolate duck and this beautiful cacti card ( i do love a cacti) by the ever so lovely Rianne.
I believe the Cherry Blossom Bubble Bar was released for their Oxford flag ship store, so there isn’t a link but i have tried the flamingo bubble bar and love it.
( I took photos before I used the bar but didn’t check the memory card was set up right so all the footage got lost)
‘crumble one bar under running warm water to …. mounds of luscious indulgent film star bubbles in your bathing release the essential oils.’
I of course didn’t read this before taking my bath and just swished the end in the water as it was filling. It created less bubbles and i’m ok with that.
These little flowers are packed with oils and it smells delicious. It’s not a strong smell (thank god) but it’s definitely close to the smell of parma violets. It’s really a great surprise that i loved this bubble bar as I’m not a fan of parma violets.
Your bath will turn glittery and pink, who doesn’t want that!?
I’m looking forward to my next bath, I need to hot step it over to Lush Oxford Street to see what else they have in store.
When a friend decides to take the plunge and start blogging, i think it’s only right to celebrate. One such friend is Blogger Luce, we used to go to school together and I can’t wait to see her blog expand and develop.
Our celebration took us to Camden Bar and Kitchen in Ashley Cross. They also hold an open mic night which is very popular, I’ve been to watch once of twice on a Monday. But we decided that brunch was the best option seeing as we are ‘grown ups’.
We headed for a window table ( natural light for all the photo taking) and a lovely waitress greeted us as soon as out bottoms hit the seats. I knew what I wanted pretty quickly (going out the night before will do that to you) Lucy nano seconds behind.
I went for Eggs florentine Lucy for Benedict, washed down with a coffee and a glass of orange for me.
I always thought I was more of an eggs Benedict girl, but the eggs florentine was so delicious, the lightly salty spinach with the creamy egg balanced out against the hollandaise.
After devouring our food we chatted about life, Lucy’s new camera, our futures….
We paid, chatted to the lovely waitress and headed out into the glorious sunshine to put Lucy’s new camera to use with outfit photos.
There are two Camdens in the Poole area one in Ashley Cross and the other in Westbourne, If you’re not in the mood for brunch head over for a pulled pork wrap or a steak wrap ( they are so delicious) or head there for a night out and grab yourself a tea pot cocktail.
Welcome to my quick Christmas eve post. I’ve decided to post on christmas day because you can get a little bored watching endless christmas tv, I know I do. So while I watch tv and have some free time while my parents go get more of my family, I’d share with you some Christmas moments.
It’s really save to say that this Christmas we went all out for the table. We lit the scene with a fairy light clad white tree adorned with Swarovski snowflakes; my dad buys my mum their new snowflake every year, as a little tradition, icicles and pearl beads. ( we know it’s crazy, but it’s Christmas)
There was no need for ice-breakers but lets be honest we love to play around and have a laugh.
we rounded up the day with a little (very competitive) game of Cranium. Ofcourse my team won!!
I hope you enjoyed this little look at how we spent out Christmas eve/Christmas day.
Christmas is the perfect time to see all your friends and with the last week of college 2015 coming to a close it was only right to have a few friends over for a little celebration. As you can see I love a party. I think the hat and tie really set my outfit off 😉
It’s become a tradition for me and Stacey to head over to Sprinkles in Landsdowne for a little girlie chin wag. After my usual choice of a scoop of mint and pistatio, we walked into Bournemouth centre. We were greeted by the most glorious winter light display.
Aren’t these Snapchat photos just a testament to how serious our conversations are? What can I say, ice cream is my everything.
As you walk through the main path in the gardens your way is lit by giant snowflakes.
Every now and again you’d walk up upon lit door frames. If I wasn’t so chicken and super aware of all the people around I would have jumped at the chance to stand inside the doorframe and posed to my hearts content (next time) we walked over to the out door bar, but it was rammed to the rafters so moved on.
I can’t wait to go back for anything exploration and adventure, maybe I’ll even try my hand at the ice skating, maybe?
This winter I think I’m the busiest I’ve even been with work, college and parties all over December. One of my favourite looks to meet the girlies in is this little skirt and these boots. I’ve mentioned these boots a while ago and I can’t stop loving them. But favourite part of this outfit is definitely this Oasis sparkly top, I love the cowl neck back and the bar across the back. it’s such a great Christmas piece that I’ve been longing to wear. I bought the shirt at last years Clothes Show live ( I’m going to this years Clothes Show!) You could wear this Christmas day and eat everything on the table and still look great.
