Birthday Sugar Biscuit Decorating
With all the extra home time we in the UK are having at the moment, I’ve taken to working on my cookie decorating skills. My birthday is on the 20th of January and I wanted to create a little tea party for Hayden and I. Making some cute biscuits for us to have. I’m going for a high tea themed day with finger sandwiches, cupcakes for a local baker and the main cake.
Working trend forecasting for the year and the start of next I’ve seen an uptake in creating and living in various aesthetic lifestyles. Most notably Cottagecore and Dark Academia. The notion of making the most of every moment and appreciating the outside or the freedom we are allowed, when we finally get it. I also love the idea of dressing in more of a costume like style. I’m more drawn to the Cottagecore style as I’ve been a rural gal all my life and only moved to a city in Summer of last year.
With this in mind I’ve decided to flex a few muscles and try and hone my skills in cookie decorating and working with piping bags, free cutting shapes and working on the aesthetic of my creations. Working on something so delicate and using a lot of time and energy only to be eaten is oddly satisfying to me. Skill practice takes patients and needs to be done frequently, here are my first toe dips into the sea of cookie decoration possibilities.
