I said yes!

Back in March Hey Hey booked a trip to Sweden for my Birthday. Little did I know that it was an engagement trip. We flew over to Gothenburg and stayed in an Air B’n’B for around 7 days. As i thought this was a birthday treat trip I didn’t pack anything smart and didn’t plan on doing much of anything. Ofcourse I looked into somethings, but nothing like I normally do for a trip.

We explored the city in the tail end of Winter into Spring and enjoyed cold mornings and light rain here and there. We wanted to visit one of the archipelago islands and decided to get the bus over to the islands. We then hopped onto the bright yellow ferry and a quick trip across the water we were in Hönö. we wanted to look over the water and take in the scene but the weather was very misty and cold, so the visibility was down. Hey Hey walked off to find some better ground to look out over. I waited on a bench. We climbed the rocks at the waters edge together and took in the ‘view’. I thought to take my instax mini so snapped a selfie with Hey up on the rocks. Without me catching on Hey Hey got onto one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes.

I cried so much and couldn’t get over how well he surprised me and how perfect the moment was. I spent the rest of our trip taking in my ring and phoning my family. It was the engagement of my dreams. Abroad and just us. HÖNÖ is our place now. I want to come back again and again.
