26-09-18 – Confidence

There is nothing like almost dying to make you love your body.

I don’t beat myself up over being heavier than my friends. Or eating ALOT of cake and then more cake. I’m excited to be alive.
Nothing more poignant then went my friends and I went to a water park. My gorgeous slender babes all in swimming costumes and me not giving an F in a bikini that made my tits look fantastic. If I do say so myself. note, it’s not to say my friends aren’t confident I just really don’t care what people think of me. So I wear what makes me happy.
Even though I was ill 10 years ago I’m still feeling grateful for all the Drs and nurses and powerful that my body (and their medicine) kept me alive.

Recently when trying on clothes I realised it wasn’t my shortcomings in the body department that was wrong it was the fashion industry that was. I see my body as beautiful and that clothes not fitting right was the fashion worlds problem, not mine. I will choose to shop in stores that understand that bodies are for living in and that what I’m doing with mine. I’ll leave behind stores that are unrealistic and don’t understand the form of the female body.
I’m wearing two pieces from high street stores that I love, They have really started to become my favourite places to shop.
This H&M dress is my favourite thing in my wardrobe. You’ve seen me talk about it in a recent post and still love it. Paired with New Look tartan trousers because it is winter. For years these two stores have been the places that I’ve never shopped in. I dreaded them, to be honest. Their sizing didn’t fit into my ideals, so I stayed away. To my delight, they’ve earned serious points for this season.
And these boots are heaven.hard to walk in because I’ve broken too many toes in my time but, Oh my I love that they make me about 6ft3.
