The Big Recap of 2018
The obligatory recap of the past year post is here. 2018 was filled with some amazing highlights I’m sharing the best bits with you now.
JANUARY
Started off the year with my birthday month. The post-Christmas/New Year lul doesn’t happen for me because come the 20th January it’s party time.
January bought me to Bicester Village for the first time. I also got to work with Footway which was amazing and I got the first snow of the year in Leicester. I also turned 24.
FEBRUARY
I went to Paris with Hayden. I signed up for the university trip but wanted Hayden to come with me so I organised everything for us two to spend a couple of days in the city of love. We met friends in Paris, I went to Premiere Vision, went museum hopping and fell in love with the city and each other. So much so that we are going back again this year.
Hayden and I also celebrated our second anniversary of being together. Two crazy wonderful years. We’ve been on so many adventures together I’m so glad I’ve found someone to walk through life with.
MARCH
The Third snow of the year (the second was in Paris) getting stranded in the countryside is something unto its self. Spun my car trying to drive to university in the snow, the things I do for education.
APRIL
Trips to London with Hayden dragging him around shop after shop, and taking him to see Harmonics in Space for research for a project.
April bought a lot of reflection. Apart from Hayden’s birthday on the 4th (best day ever), April holds World Meningitis Day. I shared about my time with Meningitis.
Celebrate the Dare to Mask launch with The Body Shop in their Southampton store. I shared on the blog lots of goodies that I’m still using now.
Spent some of April networking in Bournemouth. Most of the people at the networking event were dressed in suits and I dressed in my most favourite outfit. Which is not at all like a suit.
MAY
I co-hosted a charity fashion event which was so much fun. We created bags that were sold and all proceeds were given to our chosen charity.
Hayden and I visited bluebell woods for the first time. Of course, there were shots taken. This year Hayden and I have really taken up more photography and are working on creating much more content.
I also had the honour to interview Peter Becker who played Fredrich in War Horse at the Mayflower Theater. It was such an amazing opportunity and I’m so glad to have been given the opportunity.
JUNE
The month of girl power. I spent a lot of time with my gal pals and really developed a true bond with them. Many trips to get coffee and snacks.
ate some Mexican food with some food bloggers and met some new blogging friends. Thanks, Bournemouth Bloggers for the opportunity.
A gin tasting with Ginjams in Westbourne. I drank a lot of gin, you know for research purposes. Listening to the Ginjams guys talk endlessly about gin was really inspiring.
A Lush spa day followed at their Southampton store. I made a Cupcake face mask, which is my favourite. If I could eat it I would.
Looks like didn’t really do much in July, sorry guys.
AUGUST
August sent me to a castle…
…and to the beach.
SEPTEMBER
September was filled with Salisbury. I’ve been to Salisbury so many times throughout my life. but never remember the Abbey. We only had enough time to get the shots before they closed.
Explored Frome with Hayden. All the independent shops give me so much hope for smaller towns.
The pinnacle of September was Centre Parcs. My first friends holiday with a large group. It was amazing fun and the rapids were a huge highlight of the trip. We did the Aerial Adventure, which was us messing around in the trees and zip lining from one platform to the other.
OCTOBER
I went pumpkin picking for the first time at Sopley Farm, Shared my Halloween playlist with you all. Spent the day in London with my uni pals seeing the Frida Kahlo exhibition. Tasted the menu at Brewhouse and Kitchen with the Bournemouth Bloggers. October was really a busy month.
NOVEMBER
Styled more with my favourite William Morris for H&M shirt. I shared with you all on the blog about how easy it is to find amazing vintage pieces and slow our fast fashion consumption down.
DECEMBER
Started the final month off with playing in an upside down house with Hayden and my Nanny. Then of course we headed to Germany for that last part before Christmas.
2018 has been a great year with so many highs, that I really can’t wait to see what 2019 has to offer. I have a few goals in mind for the year ahead. I made plans to travel a little in 2019 and am excited to go to Florence and Paris this year. Thank you for being with me for 2018, bring on 2019. xx
