The most repeated outfit in my wardrobe is always the simplest one. This men’s Ralph Lauren shirt and jeans are casual, but with a little effort. Accessorised with pink hoops and a gingham hairband to make the whole look less formal and plain. Feeling my outfit was a little plain still I added pink eyeliner to the corners of my eyes and a floral Desigual backpack.

Photos captured on location at Compton Acres. I took Hayden for a little explore on our day off together. I prefered the Roman garden and the Japanese garden over all the others but they are special in their own way too. Have you been to Compton Acres? These two gardens had the biggest themes and more had been created for each garden. There was plenty to see and photograph. When rode Beryl Bikes for the first time home. Having used Lime Scooters in Paris last year, we knew the concept and were excited to give Beryl a test run. We can’t wait for our next ride.
last day of Lockdown.
Along with many of you I’m going back to work today. I have mixed feelings about being around people more consistantly. I’m increasing my chances of getting Rona or become a carrier. How will I be able to protect my loved ones and myself while at work? I have alot of anxiety about going to work again as I’ve delt with meningococcal septicaemia as a teen. Which is spread in a similar way to Rona.
“People spread meningococcal bacteria to other people by sharing respiratory and throat secretions (saliva or spit). Generally, it takes close (for example, coughing or kissing) or lengthy contact to spread these bacteria”. From the CDC. America’s Centre for desease Control.
I’m excited to make coffee and have a routine but I want to be safe and work with people who will uphold the government guidelines.
For may last day of lockdown I wanted to go to Poundbury. It’s always quite there so I knew that distancing would be easy. The buildings are so beautiful and are a mix of european influences. I visited my favourite concept store, Cherryade and bought a few things for the flat. A little dried bouquet for the lounge, a card to turn into a poster to hang and a little plant for the TV stand. The edesign of the store is forever changing and has a unique aesthetic. We walked around with a coffee from Finka and took these photos outside the pub, by the royal pavillion.
The weather is fickle, I’m forever wearing the wrong dress or a jacket with no hood. This is one of those occasions. It was much hotter then it looks but windy as hell. I wanted to take my jacket off but I would end up flashing passers by. So the Jacket stayed in, and I just melted. I perfectly did my hair for this shoot, but as it was so windy, not amount of harirspray could keep it down. I brushed my hair in between shots and it still looks like I was dragged through a hedge. Going from blonde to brown is tricky, my hair is getting lighter and lighter every week.

although I’ve never travelled alone, I think I could quite easily. During this Parisian stay, I did find myself alone for a decent amount. Travelling around a city that you can’t really speak the language of, navigating the streets and cultural customs. I found it relaxing. If you’ve read my blog you will know that I’ve been to Paris a few times and felt comfortable being alone in the city, practising my French to waiters and strangers. Walking through the neighbourhood where Hayden and I used to live when we last visited made me happy. Seeing L’Escargot on Rue Montorgueil where I made Hayden try snails for the first time. It was strange to know a city that is in a different country, as though it was your own. I was out solo exploring while Hayden slept after his Marathon. I went to find him the best pastries in Paris. I chose the Patisserie Stohrer, which is considered the oldest in Paris. I returned home with Poisson de Massepain, Cafe Eclair and a Paris Brest. All were delicious and the kind of pastries we were looking for this whole trip. I organized a photo shoot while Hayden was running with a photographer that I had never met before and just went to the location, did the shoot and that was it. I wasn’t frightened, or unsure I just knew that I wanted to experience this city and to meet new people and explore is the best way to do so.

I love wearing lace, it’s such a decadent fabric. It elevates any casual outfit into something a little more special. This look is very pared down but with lace, it’s a much more premium look. A t-shirt would have been too casual and an evening look too much for the day. Of course very muted accessories. These New Look hoops are getting much more wear then I thought they would. The rainbow jewels add needed colour to this monochromatic look.
The summer has really made Hayden and I explore much more in England. It seems we save the colder months and Winter for travelling. But summer is for staying at home, well for 2018 anyway.
Driving through the New Forest in the evening, we stopped in Beaulieu to grab and drink and see the donkeys. I’ve been to Beaulieu many times to look around the house and go to the motor museum. We stopped into a little tea room surrounded by New Forest donkeys and a few wasps (know anything about me, know I hate wasps) Sitting at quaint little tables with matching tea sets and tablecloths we sipped our drinks. I instantly regretted not getting something cold. So we wandered over to the Montagu Arms Hotel for an iced something and sat in the window thinking about what we should do for dinner and chatting about the day.

I dress for myself and if you aren’t you are missing out. Savour the bridesmaid’s dress /uniform etc that has to be worn. After that, there is really no excuse. Being comfortable in what you are wearing will make you more confident. I love dressing in what I like, over what I should wear.
‘I don’t think you should wear that’ translates to me ‘you should wear that right now, go change’.
I love tucking t-shirts into jeans, my body shape traditionally would have meant that I should try and conceal my bod at all times. F’ that!! I love this Nasty Gal shirt and wanted to show off my jeans, so tucked in it is. I feel confident and am living for it. ( anyone else watching RuPaul season 9?)

black in summer is so underrated. Black pieces against pale skin or a more glowing complexion black can take any look form a 5 to and 8 instantly. black dresses are timeless and chic and perfect for running around town in or sitting in a beer garden soaking up the sun. This little one I’ve had for years and has never failed me. The underskirt needs a little attention but it’s so flattering and the perfect length to tan my pins. Worn with the perfect ‘business’ jacket from LOTD and white trainers with contrasting laces.
