Valentines Day is an opportunity for me to find my true north again. To refocus my attention on the things and people I love. Walking to a castle looking out on to the sea was a very fitting activity to do this Valentine’s day. This year Hayden and I are planning so many exciting life-changing things. So to show you this outfit at a forte fortifies my decisions. For my life and life with Hayden.

The perfect knitted dress for winter comes from Reversed, bought on a whim for something cosy to wear on a warmer day in Düsseldorf. The relaxed fit meant tights wear easily worn underneath without there being bunching. Black boots to elevate the look and a black DKNY beret for added style. Possibly my most Christmasy outfit during the whole trip. I have more shots of this look in a different location and want to share them with you but will create a different post for them.

Topshop does some of the best-cropped T-shirts on the high street. This stripey get up will be moving into my summer wardrobe ASAP. Worn Over a turtleneck because German winters are no joke. Thermal socks worn under my jeans pulled to my knees helped keep me warm all holiday.

Düsseldorf Theatre Museum at sunset.
Pink sunsets in the pink city. Düsseldorf is a wonder of colourful delights, from the rainbow buildings, delicious food and friendly people we felt right at home.
packing only hand luggage is sometimes a nightmare when assembling outfits for a week. A lot of re-wearing happened during this Düsseldorf adventure. Trying to be creative in what I wear every day. To create something different proved a real challenge. Pairing these pink glittery SK8-HI Vans with the pink Theatre Museum was a highlight. As I love aesthetics and matching is my favourite thing. Hey style lovers, quick question. When you get stressed does your style and effort in creating daily looks go right out the window? Mine does. I’m a style blogger that takes a photo of what I’m wearing that day. No pre-planning and shooting multiple looks a day. Maybe I should start doing that. Anyway, I’ve been swamped with university work and trying to finish early because Hayden and I are away on my hand in day. I’ve piled my plate rather high these past few weeks, and have been wearing the exact same thing day in day out apart from when I have work then it’s coffee-stained jeans and my uniform.
The last time I felt like I made an effort was when my Nanny came down. The outside of the Upside Down house was the perfect place to inject some colour and motivation back into my daily looks.

Floating, being interviewed for German TV, betting coffee with my 86 year old Nanny and having laughing pains all day. Just some of the things that happened to me. The Upside Down House is in Bournemouth Triangle and really worth a visit. It sparks your creativity in getting the right shots. Ones where it really does look like you are floating.
The most comfortable dress from Topshop was in the sale a while ago but Zara does similar style right now. The stretch on the neckline and waist make it so relaxed while giving you some sort of shape. Adding thermal tights, because it’s freezing living near the sea and the best ankle boots from New Look. I think everyone has these boots now, but they are such a good bootie that everyone should have them.

The globality of the beret isn’t lost on me but I still feel that it is the most Parisian thing someone can wear. Such a chic iconic hat has to be a foundation of Parisian style. I have become quite the collector of said hat. This cute black number in a DKNY piece which I was planning to save for when we are in Germany. The colder climate and Europian architecture would look so striking in photos of my looks for TCHG. But I couldn’t resist.
Black accessories are the easiest way to create an effortlessly chic look. My dear friend Stella looks so chic in black and has such style that I’m constantly looking to her for inspiration. She dresses in a much more polished way then I do but I can still get a lot of styling Ideas.
On another note, I can’t believe I am loving red so much. What has happened to me? First I bought this delightful red cross body by Yumi then a cropped polo shirt from Tommy Hilfiger in bright red.

In these transitional days, it’s key to layer, one minute it’s windy and cold then like a summers day. The wool Topshop coat from last winter is back out and I know that lots of you are in love with this coat like I am. It’s such a timeless shape with amazing blue and peach patterning. Paired with my favourite tartan trousers. What’s life without more tartan?
With more neutral pairings of a grey Cola jumper from a vintage store that Hayden and I both love and white leather Converse. Of course, my Yumi red bag to tie in with the cola logo.
Really lacking in jewellery inspiration at the moment. Jewellery is so such a summer thing to me that wearing anything in Winter seams off.

I’m always on the lookout for dresses that show off my legs. I’m hella tall 5ft10, an actual giant against most of the women in my family. That won’t stop me wearing short dresses to lengthen my legs further and to show them off. This H&M number (which is under £20 *high five*) is a transitional piece. Can be worn at the end of Summer all the way into Winter. The cuffed sleeves get the piece so much interest, the tied collar and ruffle allow for a little cleavage around the boobs. The loose fit makes the dress a more feminine style. It also has pockets ( angels singing in the background) Can’t believe how much I’m loving in H&M right now. The new seasonal pieces have really knocked me out of the park.
Teamed with a huge Topshop wool coat to get the balance between masculine and feminine that I try and create with every outfit.
