The Curly Haired Girl turned one of the 21st of April! Last year I wasn’t happy with the content I was creating on my old blog, I didn’t know what my next move was. How was I to move forward with my old content lurking around? I couldn’t, so I made the bold step to start again, from scratch!!
thecurlyhariedgirl.org.uk was launched and I started to think about what I wanted to share more seriously.
My plans for Year Two: Go to more blogger events and to start university in September, and get my hair sorted so that I’m happy with it.
Fortunately the 21st was also date night, so myself and the boy headed to 7Bone in Bournemouth I ordered the Shuffle to the Straight Time and he went for Prince Charles is overrated.
The money shot! ( a little on the cold side but it was packed so it’s ok) Of course I had the dirty fries, I want bottles and bottles of the stuff.

jacket- Vintage similar
bag- vintage Calvin Klein similar
thank you for reading for a whole year!!!!
One trend that I have never really liked was the culotte. It brings me back to my childhood of wearing skorts. Basically I don’t see the point of them.
Having bigger hips then my waist makes culottes look so frumpy. It really accentuates my hips and I think I look wider then I actually am. But I would have never have known this if I hadn’t tried them out.
I now know that they are not my style and I will never wear them again like this. TBH I look like a balloon!! Thank goodness these are my grandma’s and she can for sure have them back.
This is where I shot my outfit of the day. I mean how beautiful is it.
shirt – H&M
Culottes – St Michael ( old old M&S)

I posted a photo of the Lush Cherry Blossom Bubble Bar on Instagram about two weeks ago and have finally gotten round to using it.
I was very kindly given it for my birthday along with a chocolate duck and this beautiful cacti card ( i do love a cacti) by the ever so lovely Rianne.
I believe the Cherry Blossom Bubble Bar was released for their Oxford flag ship store, so there isn’t a link but i have tried the flamingo bubble bar and love it.
( I took photos before I used the bar but didn’t check the memory card was set up right so all the footage got lost)
‘crumble one bar under running warm water to …. mounds of luscious indulgent film star bubbles in your bathing release the essential oils.’
I of course didn’t read this before taking my bath and just swished the end in the water as it was filling. It created less bubbles and i’m ok with that.
These little flowers are packed with oils and it smells delicious. It’s not a strong smell (thank god) but it’s definitely close to the smell of parma violets. It’s really a great surprise that i loved this bubble bar as I’m not a fan of parma violets.
Your bath will turn glittery and pink, who doesn’t want that!?
I’m looking forward to my next bath, I need to hot step it over to Lush Oxford Street to see what else they have in store.
When a friend decides to take the plunge and start blogging, i think it’s only right to celebrate. One such friend is Blogger Luce, we used to go to school together and I can’t wait to see her blog expand and develop.
Our celebration took us to Camden Bar and Kitchen in Ashley Cross. They also hold an open mic night which is very popular, I’ve been to watch once of twice on a Monday. But we decided that brunch was the best option seeing as we are ‘grown ups’.
We headed for a window table ( natural light for all the photo taking) and a lovely waitress greeted us as soon as out bottoms hit the seats. I knew what I wanted pretty quickly (going out the night before will do that to you) Lucy nano seconds behind.
I went for Eggs florentine Lucy for Benedict, washed down with a coffee and a glass of orange for me.
I always thought I was more of an eggs Benedict girl, but the eggs florentine was so delicious, the lightly salty spinach with the creamy egg balanced out against the hollandaise.
After devouring our food we chatted about life, Lucy’s new camera, our futures….
We paid, chatted to the lovely waitress and headed out into the glorious sunshine to put Lucy’s new camera to use with outfit photos.
All the outfit photos were in my last post here.
There are two Camdens in the Poole area one in Ashley Cross and the other in Westbourne, If you’re not in the mood for brunch head over for a pulled pork wrap or a steak wrap ( they are so delicious) or head there for a night out and grab yourself a tea pot cocktail.
Thank you for reading,
Mini dresses are my go to piece to wear when having an evening out. Is there any better opportunity to show off as much leg as you can.
I wore this to watch Buffalo Go play at Sound Circus in Bournemouth.

This Easter mum, Soraya and I went bowling at Bowlplex in Tower Park. I can’t remember the last time I went, I’m pretty sure It was for a birthday party. We dashed over to the lanes and prepared to try and thrash each other with a game.
The best part of bowling for me is when it’s disco time and all the lights go down the music turns up and it’s bowling party time!! This is what we arrived to, I was so into it. I do love a black light.
Can we just take a moment to look at all the pretty colours and lights.
I know I’m not the best bowler, but I’m extremely competitive. Amazingly I won!
If you’re bored over Easter get on over to an alley and get your game on!! Also students are discounted if you have a valid NUS card. You’re really never to old for bowling.
Thanks for reading.

Relaxed (lazy) style is my everything, picking everyday pieces that are comfortable mixed in with something a little special to create a workable, wearable outfit.
On lazy days balance is key, I don’t want to be wearing dresses that I have to have the best sitting posture in or the jeans that are to tight and show my knicker lines ( hello those 3 easter eggs) I also don’t want to be wearing my scruffy clothes with all the paint stains on.
This embellished jumper caught my eye from across the store, a bold statement from such a basic grey jumper. Paired with my trusty ripped jeans and cognac boots ( for some added hight ) Teamed with my beaded tassel earrings Zandra Rhodes bag and some much needed lipstick to complete my favourite relaxed look.
Jumper – Topshop (old)
Jeans – New Look
Bag – Zandra Rhodes

thanks for reading, please follow and have a lovely rest of your Easter break.
I went to my friends house party, she’s been away at uni and I really didn’t realise how much I missed her. Her friends and I gathered around her to celebrate her 22nd. These are two of the polaroids I was in from the night. I really want to buy a polaroid camera now, I love the instantaneous-ness of it. ( is that even a word)
Happy Easter Sunday everyone, I hope you spent it with family and eating lots of chocolate. I did!
I’m nosy, i’ll be the first to say it. I love looking though peoples stuff ( with their permission of course) and knowing what they have/ collect/ hoard. I feel that’s why I love bloggers so much I get to look through their stuff. It’s only fair to return the favour.
What’s in my bag: party edition.
This little box clutch was from TK-Maxx by Love Weaves. It’s really quite small and doesn’t fit any of my normal every day stuff inside.
When I got out I have to take only what I really really need while I’m out.
This Lulu Guinness coin purse is perfect. Fits all the cards you need in a little internal side pocket and enough room for your change.
After a few drinks that lipstick you spent ages getting right is going to come off. I always have lip products with me. I don’t like having my photo taken with half warn off lipstick, but who does?
Topshop – Beguiled
The tiniest of perfumes for the tiniest of bags. You always want to smell nice after dancing, especially is you dance like me you really need perfume with you on a night out.
YSL – Opium
Save room and weight and take the smaller brush/comb you can. This is the comb from Mulan when I had the Disney costume.
Finally and most obviously your phone.
Although I’m born in winter I do love the sun and am so excited that it’s now officially spring!! Things I’m looking forward to this spring are friend’s birthdays, my family’s birthdays, Easter, and putting away all my winter clothes and getting a tan.
Already spring has been amazing and we are on day 3. I cooked dinner for my bf for the first time and it went really well. I was so nervous about cooking for him. These are the Swarovski candles I lit at the table.
spring cleaning my room is something I’ve started to do. I’m no way near finished because lets face it, I’m a hoarder. But this little section looks pretty good so far. ( Kernow spa candle, Ikea beetle cushion, primary cushion, B&Q wall paper)
Getting some of my shades out.
TK-Maxx – Forever 21 – Ebay – Dorothy Perkins
I can’t wait to wear these sandals. I wore them least year. I put them away way to early. I’ve linked the white ones, they are just as gorgeous.
Thank you for reading. I hope you’re just as excited as I am about it being spring.
What are your plans for this summer?
