THE MELLOW YELLOW DRESS

The best purchases are sometimes the ones you make on a whim. This dress is one of those purchases. Spotted it on the Zara website for £29.99 and added to my basket within seconds. I saved this dress to wear while we were away in Somerset. I’m so glad I did that as I wanted to make our days together on holiday a little more special the just my usualy jeans and t-shirt uniform. I knew this dress would be a statement as The yellow is so bright, But I wasn’t prepared for the looks I got all day. Hey, I’m not one to complain about looks when I have a killer outfit on. Hayden and I must have been filmed for the Influencers in the Wild Instagram as we were working really hard in this location to get these shots and all the locals and toursists did like a little look over at us.

Back to the dress. Super comfortable and the shoulder pads are a nice piece of detail to the dress. The belt is attached at one side which stopped it slipping around and moving. I’m thinking of unpicking it so that I can wear it without a belt.Which is how the model on the Zara website wore it and It does look very chic that way. Oh, and did I mention it has pockets?!

Worn with a pair of carrot earrings, also from Zara. A chunky pair of DM’s, a little cardi from Sainsburys and my hero purchase my nude Coach bag.

Gaining Confidence

When I started blogging, back in the day. It was a solo project. I took photos on a self timer, edited and wrote alone. But seeing fellow bloggers like officially Quigley and Paige Arminta working with others to create interesting content opened my eyes to the possibility that blogging could actually be fun. I could smile in photos, jump around do silly things. Trying to be more excited in photos soon meant, my photos became better. I wasn’t as stressed about getting everything done, and it showed. My photos stopped being replicas for American Gothic and become something to actually look at. Relaxing into getting my photo taken by Hayden or Ez or even a photographer I’ve never worked with. My confidence grew I could stand in a crowd and get the shot, not pretend I didn’t want my photo taken.
I wanted more epic photos taken while away with my family in Mallorca. This little wharf in Port de Pollença was perfect. a striking back drop with a cool pose would create a great photo and story. Having my photographer for the shoot ( my cousin Ez) lie on the floor to create different angles, me swooshing my new favourite dress. It was loads of fun. People would stop and look but I was focused on getting the shot more than them.
My advice would be to shoot with people you know first to gain confidence in your work. Here you will be able to understand what works for you, the poses you like the feel of the photography style. I’ve found that having a glass of wine before shooting your look is perfect to be the right amount of confident/ I don’t care who watches me pose. Especially when out with friends.
please leave a comment telling me how you gained confidence posing for your shots.

I graduated

Monday the 8th July 2019.

Dress – Zara | Shoes – Micheal Kors | Cap and Gown -? Earrings and Necklace – From my family

I graduated with my fellow Fashion Promotion and Communications girls in the Guildhall. My mum and dad came and of course, Hayden was there to share in the moment with me. Three years of ups and downs but a Ba(Hons) is worth it all. “Educational” trips to London, Paris and Florence with my uni girls will forever be a high light. Sipping coffee before presentations in the cafe across the road. Frantic messages to each other trying to decipher the notes we had written in lectures.

University isn’t for the faint-hearted, but it will fill your mind and expand your horizons if you let it. You will be pushed to your limits let down by circumstance but you will achieve and create and have an amazing time.

The thank yous

To mum and dad for listening to me cry down the phone to them about silly things. For holding my hand when I needed it and for letting me go it alone. Marshaine, Poppy, Stella, Emily, Amy, Emily, Charis, Tess, Maruta. All incredible smart girls that have been with me on this three-year crash course on, how to create, become adults ( or at least pretend to be) make friendships and love fashion and be a good kind human.

Of course to Hayden for being the best guy. We’ve been together nearly 3 1/2 years and that whole time I’ve been in education working towards this moment. We worked towards it together.

Solent Class of 2019 FPC !!

Three years are over. I finish university this month and let me tell you I’ve been waiting for this day since I went into the third year. I wouldn’t say I was over university but I feel ready to start working and getting paid some money. I am over making coffee at the weekends being glued to a computer during the week, either at home or in the library, sitting on the train trying to not fall asleep to and from my university. I’m ready.

My ready-ness is also met with a lot of trepidation as there is no going back. Yes, I can do my masters right away but I want a break I want to be free. My happiness and trepidation helped develop these shots. I wore tan boots stood in a field of yellow, wore a beautiful pink floral dress from Zara, but everything is black and white. There is no colour just shape. I think you can see the thought in my face more then if you had the coloured photos you’d just think the shot were pretty.

I want to start my life but not end this chapter of it yet. My three-year long routine will be over and I will have to start anew.

Welcome to the real world.
