Office Hours

Taken after 5 plus G&T’s and a burger and fries.

Probably the happiest I’ll ever looking having my look photos taken. It helps having had a few gins when you have an audience watching H take photos of you.

Ginjams Gin Tasting

Ginjams in a new wine and gin bar, in the heart of Westbourne. Walk past the restaurant chains and boutiques and you’ll see the bright orange beacon of hope standing waiting for you. Step through the orange and into a world of wine and gin, get lost listening to Chris recommend and talk about gin for hours. Knowing the best tonic accompaniments and garnishes each gins backstory and distillery knowledge. Created by Chris and Thomas, you can read their full story over on ginjams.co.uk. ( more eloquently written then anything I could write) they are really lovely friendly guys that are clearly passionate about their creation.

My first taste of gin was at a festival, I was given a free gin token from Hendricks but at 18 I had no clue what gin was and didn’t get it at all. I was at a festival so needed cider. But I want back the next day and ordered another. This past December my love for gin was reignited when we went to Edinburgh.

With over 65 gins Ginjams is really the place to go for your gin and wine fix. Go as a couple with your gal pals. Or go alone like I did to the Bournemouth bloggers event held for National Gin Day.

We were given tokens to trade-off for the different G&T’s we wanted to try. A little passport to remember what we had. I decided to pick gins I had never had before, and completely forgot to use my passport but I did take photos so at least I’ll remember that way.

I follow Lilliput Dorset Gin on Instagram as I live round the corner, but never tried their gin before. Seeing is LDG was up for tasting I knew I had to try. Through the tasting, I discovered that my gin preferences really lie in more savoury tastes. Lilliput Dorset Gin is a Mediterranean gin, think olives, thyme and rosemary. I mixed mine with the mediterranean Fever-Tree tonic and it was perfect.

You could say I’m a fan.

The interior is gorgeous, perfect modern wine bar meets cool gin hide out. The front hosts the bar and a more communal setting, step further into Ginjams and find more intimate snug corners and tables for two. At the back you will find the gin garden as a hothouse vibe.

Empty bottles festoon the garden creating the best art installation going. But back to the full bottles.

The Botanic tastes like jelly babies, I amped up the sweet taste with Elderflower Fever-Tree tonic. It was so sweet and delicious. Honourable mention to British Polo Gin and Jinzu Both very different. From my tasting the BPG is very traditional where as the Jinzu had sake and cherry blossom in it.

I really want to go back for dinner with H and with the girls. Thank goodness for Ginjams, they also do a G & Tea which sounds perfect.

Do book a table to avoid disappointment, the weekends are busy Ginjams

Embroidered Jumper

Last year the sales weren’t for me, i didn’t find a single thing. But this year  The sales this year have been great this year, it hit me a little hard, but it was worth it.

Behold the mesh embroidered jumper of my dreams, and probably yours now. Worn with blue skinny jeans and my trusty long denim jacket.

This jumper would look great over a tight black dress for new years eve.

Photos taken around Westbourne, Dorset.

The Libertine – Westbourne

Westbourne is on route to Bournemouth from Poole, complete with beautiful arcade.

I love getting to know new places to eat. I first went to The Libertine on a double date with my boyfriend and his friends. We went on a Monday and had the buy one get one free pizza. They have a pizza oven I believe. It’s all very Instagramable, the milk churn (?) stools.

While wondering the shops with mum and my cousin we couldn’t decide where to eat, looking in on many different cafes, eateries and restaurants. I suggested The Libertine, so we ordered and sat down.

Sharing the salami and peppadew pizza and the caramelised onion and garlic chicken pizza with sweet potato fries and salad. We agreed that it was totally delicious and well worth the wait ( 30 mins, not bothered)

If you haven’t been over to Westbourne you should give it a try with lots of independent shops and a fair few charity shops to find a previously loved gem.

More posts coming your way, thanks for reading.

Blogger Brunch Date

When a friend decides to take the plunge and start blogging, i think it’s only right to celebrate. One such friend is Blogger Luce, we used to go to school together and I can’t wait to see her blog expand and develop.

Our celebration took us to Camden Bar and Kitchen in Ashley Cross. They also hold an open mic night which is very popular, I’ve been to watch once of twice on a Monday. But we decided that brunch was the best option seeing as we are ‘grown ups’. DSCN1455

We headed for a window table ( natural light for all the photo taking) and a lovely waitress greeted us as soon as out bottoms hit the seats. I knew what I wanted pretty quickly (going out the night before will do that to you) Lucy nano seconds behind.

DSCN1450 I went for Eggs florentine Lucy for Benedict, washed down with a coffee and a glass of orange for me.DSCN1449

I always thought I was more of an eggs Benedict girl, but the eggs florentine was so delicious, the lightly salty spinach with the creamy egg balanced out against the hollandaise. DSCN1454

After devouring our food we chatted about life, Lucy’s new camera, our futures….

We paid, chatted to the lovely waitress and headed out into the glorious sunshine to put Lucy’s new camera to use with outfit photos.

All the outfit photos were in my last post here.

There are two Camdens in the Poole area one in Ashley Cross and the other in Westbourne, If you’re not in the mood for brunch head over for a pulled pork wrap or a steak wrap ( they are so delicious) or head there for a night out and grab yourself a tea pot cocktail.

Thank you for reading,
