I always cherish the times I get to spend time with my friend Rianne. She’s moved back to London, so I see even less of her. But we did get to spend a couple of hours together and we celebrated my birthday. I thought I’d share what she every kindly gave me for my 23rd, because she has great taste and I think it’s kind of tradition here on The Curly Haired Girl. Remember this post?
We had lunch at Chiquito I had the Spicy Chicken Texan Torta, which as delicious with skin on fries. Rianne had a burrito. We drank tea ‘something’ cocktails, then a churro milkshake before we headed to bowling. I of course won because I’m to competitive.
Mini hair clips
The motivational quotes ever girl needs.
The chiquest knuckle duster you’ll ever see.
mango lip balm.
Delicate miss matched stud earrings.
When we were in primary school together I’m sure we first bonded over our joint love for rabbits.
Camelia necklace (love the name) I wore it as soon as I saw it. Rianne really knows my taste.
I love the marble decoration and the pomegranate bath marbles smell amazing, I can’t wait to try them.
I’ve been truly spoilt, thank you.
I think I might have to make Rianne my personal shopper, because I love everything here.
Thank you for reading, I’m off to uni today.
I’ve arrived back an uni and went for lunch with my boy friend. The Watermark has opened a few more places ( still no Wahaca though) Five Guys is one of the new ones. I’ve never been before, but the BF has so we ate there. I was a good burger but the fries are really great. I tracked how may calories the whole meal was and it was a lor-a-lot. I had the little cheese burger and little fries with a milk shake.
We took these photos on the run back to my flat. It was freezing cold.

I met up with two girls from my class for a little ‘not quite’ Christmas lunch. I ended up in the new Watermark building in Southampton. Not everything is open yet so we went for something new, Thaikhun which is an awesome Thai street food place, with the nicest staff and the tastiest food. We went for a bucket of Full Moon cocktail.
The inside is bright and rustic with a clear view of the kitchen, wooden floors and walls created smaller eating areas for a cozy dining experience.
My Ka Nom Jeeb Moo & Gong (prawn and pork Dumplings) add the chilli sauce that is on your table, you won’t be disappointed.
Poppy went for the Por Pia Tord pak ( veg spring rolls)
Amy had the Goong Choop Pang Tord ( Tempura prawns)
We devoured our starters wanting to share but not being able to because of the veggie. We moved onto the main course.
I had the chicken and cashew curry with jasmine rice. The right amount of spice blended with the creamy nuts and sweet veg.
I think is the chicken with pepper and garlic.
Poppy went for the red Thai curry with tofu. She did find too spicy, but they were more then happy to make her a lighter version.
We chatted and laughed before getting the bill and heading into the night.
As we walked back along the wall we were greeted with a crescendo that made us jump as high as our full stomachs would allow. The Wall in southampton was ablaze. Images danced across the stones depicting the birth and rise of Southampton.
Thank you for reading.
Thank you Poppy and Amy for being the kindest and funniest girls i know, and for accepting that I will want to take photos of the food you are about to eat. See you in 2017
Love Amelia, XO
The comfiest outfits are sometimes the best ones. This shirt and jumper combo is so A/W 16 granny chic without the glasses and cat slippers. Also cropped jeans are going to be in my wardrobe forever. The little bit of ankle showing ands a much needed detail to this look.

I’ve been on a little Cornish get away with the boy, we stopped in Perranporth for a little look at the beach and the shops. Perranporth is my second favourite beach in the whole world. Last time I was here was in the summer but there is something much more beautiful about a moody winter beach.
It looks like I live in this Long Tall Sally coat, but it’s just the warmest thing I took with me to Cornwall. I’ve been obsessed with with this plaid shirt from Zara it’s so oversized and baggy which suites my student lifestyle to a T. I’ve been wearing it with my trusty cropped jeans and my Ziggy boots from Primark. ( couldn’t wear fancy boots on the sand)
Also I dyed my hair, I’ve been wanting to get rid of my orange ends for a while and not having a spare moment to go to a salon I did it myself in my en suite. I just dyed over my orange with the Loreal Viking dye and i have this much more muted easier on the eye look.

More Cornish adventures to come, thanks for reading. XO.
I’ve walked through these parks almost everyday and that it’s Autumn for all the lovely colours are perfect for outfit photos.
Do you ever have an outfit that you wear and you instantly feel so festive, this outfit does this for me. The cutest boots from Just Fab. They make any outfit a little more special and a burgundy mini skirt and you are away. I love all the different berry tones mixed with the brown of my shoes and the leaves.

I love restaurants that are home grown, where creating thoughtful menus of delicious food is a priority. The glorious people behind The Stable have done just that! I went with a group of friends and my boyfriend to try out their pizza and cider.
Stable are a Southern company from my childhood county of Dorset. Their Bournemouth location is a recent addition to the family and we sat at a long bench and chatted and eat and drank.
Their interior design is so Instagramable and still smells very new. Menus are on clip boards and you are given a number block when you order at the bar.
The cider taster board that my friends ordered. I’m a picky drinker so I don’t think I would have liked this but oh my, it looked good. I had the Devon red which was not as fruity as i would have lived but it was great.
The guy and I ordered The Lamb Roast and The King Crabber and switched half way so we could try each others. The King Crabber was amazing, the crab meat was light yet tasty and then I squeezed some of the lemon on the pizza and it could have seen fireworks for how delicious it was. From a solid 8 to a full 10 out of 10.
I can’t wait to go to my Southampton The Stable now I’ve fallen in love. Also they have a pretty big vegan menu.

Sound Clash 2016 – Somerley House Hampshire
Soundclash is the last event of freshers, I’m not really into the type of music that was played. But it was the last event of freshers so it seamed right to send freshers off with a bang.
Considering I’m not really a fan of club music I did watch a few sets and really enjoy them. I enjoyed Marvin Humes, Artful Dodger. I really came to see the Wilkinson set and Pendulum do a DJ set, they were the highlights for me.
There was a retro/cheesy tunes tent which i flocked to after a while as did most people, there is only so much bass you ears can take at one time.

Saying bye to my work friends started with dinner at Vesuvio, an Italian on the water front in Bournemouth. Last time i was there i had a pizza which was delicious but this time i had a lasagne dish. Which didn’t live up to how excited i was or how hungry i was. A little tasteless but their bellinis are lovely. And the lemon cheesecake was a smash hit.

thinking about making a little vlog of the day.

Harry Paye day is an annual event held on Poole Quay every year on the 18th June, but I’ve only been this year. You dress up as a pirate and have a laugh with your friends while you raise some money for local charities.
I pulled on my boots and bandana and dashed to meet my friend before everything finished. I made it just in time to watch the last band play and eat an ice-cream.
It’s amazing that you can pull a costume together with a tan belt, lose shirt, knee high boots and a bandana.
