SUMMER SIDE | green H&M dress

last day of Lockdown.

Along with many of you I’m going back to work today. I have mixed feelings about being around people more consistantly. I’m increasing my chances of getting  Rona or become a carrier. How will I be able to protect my loved ones and myself while at work? I have alot of anxiety about going to work again as I’ve delt with meningococcal septicaemia as a teen. Which is spread in a similar way to Rona.

“People spread meningococcal bacteria to other people by sharing respiratory and throat secretions (saliva or spit). Generally, it takes close (for example, coughing or kissing) or lengthy contact to spread these bacteria”. From the CDC. America’s Centre for desease Control.

I’m excited to make coffee and have a routine but I want to be safe and work with people who will uphold the government guidelines.

For may last day of lockdown I wanted to go to Poundbury. It’s always quite there so I knew that distancing would be easy. The buildings are so beautiful and are a mix of european influences. I visited my favourite concept store, Cherryade and bought a few things for the flat. A little dried bouquet for the lounge, a card to turn into a poster to hang and a little plant for the TV stand. The edesign of the store is forever changing and has a unique aesthetic. We walked around with a coffee from Finka and took these photos outside the pub, by the royal pavillion.

The weather is fickle, I’m forever wearing the wrong dress or a jacket with no hood. This is one of those occasions. It was much hotter then it looks but windy as hell. I wanted to take my jacket off but I would end up flashing passers by. So the Jacket stayed in, and I just melted.  I perfectly did my hair for this shoot, but as it was so windy, not amount of harirspray could keep it down. I brushed my hair in between shots and it still looks like I was dragged through a hedge. Going from blonde to brown is tricky, my hair is getting lighter and lighter every week.

Sutton Crossbody

Simplisity is key when it’s 30 something degrees out. Always reverting back to this dress every time the temp reaches over 25 degrees. It’s light and breesey and from Primark of all places. I’ve worn this exact combo of the dress and show all over this blog and my Instagram. I think it’s the easiest “put together” look for daily use there is. Heels are from Clarks years and years ago. Their timeless and so many brands have amazing versions. My fave pair are linked here  and similar dresses linked here and here. Adding to the metalics of this look  I accessorised with a Nomination bracelet that I was gifted on my 21st. I love customisable accessories and should really be wearing this bracelet more often.

A new addition to my bag collection is a cream nude Sutton from Coach. Snagged in their sale. It’s a cross body, but I’m yet to use it as one. A perfectly proportioned size. It’s a wallet, phone lipstick and camera in seamlessly. The gold hardware with the soft leather elevate the whole look and tie in the metalic heels. The zip pull tassel is understated yet also gives the bag a little interest. the Sutton has a little leather dog tag that I’d want to get my intials embossed onto it at some point.
