SUMMER SIDE | green H&M dress

last day of Lockdown.

Along with many of you I’m going back to work today. I have mixed feelings about being around people more consistantly. I’m increasing my chances of getting  Rona or become a carrier. How will I be able to protect my loved ones and myself while at work? I have alot of anxiety about going to work again as I’ve delt with meningococcal septicaemia as a teen. Which is spread in a similar way to Rona.

“People spread meningococcal bacteria to other people by sharing respiratory and throat secretions (saliva or spit). Generally, it takes close (for example, coughing or kissing) or lengthy contact to spread these bacteria”. From the CDC. America’s Centre for desease Control.

I’m excited to make coffee and have a routine but I want to be safe and work with people who will uphold the government guidelines.

For may last day of lockdown I wanted to go to Poundbury. It’s always quite there so I knew that distancing would be easy. The buildings are so beautiful and are a mix of european influences. I visited my favourite concept store, Cherryade and bought a few things for the flat. A little dried bouquet for the lounge, a card to turn into a poster to hang and a little plant for the TV stand. The edesign of the store is forever changing and has a unique aesthetic. We walked around with a coffee from Finka and took these photos outside the pub, by the royal pavillion.

The weather is fickle, I’m forever wearing the wrong dress or a jacket with no hood. This is one of those occasions. It was much hotter then it looks but windy as hell. I wanted to take my jacket off but I would end up flashing passers by. So the Jacket stayed in, and I just melted.  I perfectly did my hair for this shoot, but as it was so windy, not amount of harirspray could keep it down. I brushed my hair in between shots and it still looks like I was dragged through a hedge. Going from blonde to brown is tricky, my hair is getting lighter and lighter every week.

My outfit looked so much better without my Long Tall Sally coat, but I knew that I needed it for walking around Poundbury. English weather is unpredictable to say the least. The last time I came to Poundbury there were half the building there are now, which is super odd.  DSCN1651 DSCN1650 DSCN1649 DSCN1661 DSCN1666 DSCN1667

We stopped into my favourite shop Cherryade

They are ‘purveyors of super lovely things’ which is exactly what the store is filled with. I want everything they have. The framed art and home-wear are my favourites. Find them online here

Trying to hide from the rain we ducked in and out of shops, and looking at all the pretty houses. We found a little cafe around the corner from Yard, called Bramble.
